The Department of the Interior (DOI), is seeking
“permission to destroy records about oil and gas leases, mining, dams,
wells, timber sales, marine conservation, fishing, endangered species,
non-endangered species, critical habitats, land acquisition, and lots
more from the National Archives.
The DOI plan to destroy potentially millions of documents dating
back 50 years. Approval for the plan rests with the National Archives
and Records Administration (NARA).
